Cell Cycle Stages Reference

Interphase
G1 Phase: Cell growth and metabolic activity. Cells duplicate organelles and need nutrients to progress.
S Phase: DNA replication to form sister chromatids connected at centromeres.
G2 Phase: Protein synthesis and ATP production. Centrosomes replicate.
G0 Phase: Non-dividing state triggered by crowding or lack of nutrients.
Mitosis
Prophase: Sister chromatids condense, spindle forms, centrosomes move to poles.
Metaphase: Spindle fibers align chromosomes at the cell equator.
Anaphase: Sister chromatids separate and move toward poles.
Telophase: Spindle breaks down, nuclear envelopes reform.
Cytokinesis: Cleavage furrow forms, resulting in two daughter cells.
