One nucleotide change can alter the protein a gene makes, or change nothing at all, and a list of mutation types rarely shows why. In this game each ultraviolet hit changes a single nucleotide, and that change is traced through transcription and translation into the amino acid sequence and the way the protein folds. Some hits are silent, some swap one amino acid for another, and some end the protein early, so the same kind of damage can wreck a fold or leave it untouched.
